Puerto Pollensa, also known as Port de Pollença, is a popular seaside holiday destination for families coming to Mallorca. Most towns in Mallorca have an ‘old town’ and a ‘port town’, Puerto Pollensa is 6km East of the old town of Pollensa and is the most Northerly town on the island. Back in the day, Puerto Pollensa was a humble fishing village, much like many of Mallorca’s seaside villages. Nowadays the marina has been significantly extended. The once old fishing boats have now been replaced by some magnificent yachts, well worth a wander along to have a look. Although you still have a fantastic array of traditional Mallorcan llaüts boats moored at the start of the marina.
Puerto Pollensa boasts a large stretch of pedestrianised seafront promenade and a long beach with shallow, calm waters. The bay is stunning with its views of the mountains and warm Mediterranean sea. On offer are fantastic restaurants and cafes as well we plenty of daytime activities on the beach. For more active people the hiking and biking in the area are also five stars. The weekly fruit and vegetable market is a real highlight and takes place every Wednesday from 8 am - 1 pm selling fresh, local produce.
