Description

Villa Esquina sits at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana in La Font, on the quiet edge of Pollensa. It has been refurbished throughout and built around groups: five large bedrooms, five bathrooms, a table for ten indoors and twelve on the terrace. It suits two families sharing, or three generations travelling together.
The garden is what guests write about. A 15 metre saltwater pool, long enough for a real swim, heated on request and covered electrically for safety. Ten sun loungers, a covered dining terrace, and a barbecue area with its own sink and fridge freezer. In the south-east corner, a Bali bed and a hammock in a pocket of tropical planting, facing the mountains as the sun goes down. Orange, lemon, lime and fig trees in the grounds, an astroturf pitch with a goal, a basketball hoop and table tennis.

Indoors, the ground floor opens into one bright space. Living area, dining table for ten, and a kitchen built by people who cook: island breakfast bar, gas hob, large oven, two fridge-freezers, juicer, air fryer and the sort of equipment you normally have to go home for. Off it is the snug, where everyone ends up on a very hot afternoon or a wet one. L-shaped sofa, 50-inch 4K TV with UK streaming, a library of films, more than twenty board games, and a pool table that flips over into air hockey.
Two bedrooms are downstairs, including a master with a super king bed, twin basins, a walk-in shower, and a separate bath. Three more are upstairs, each en suite and each with its own balcony. One overlooks the garden and pool, one faces east for the morning, and one looks straight at the mountains, which is where you want to be at sunset. Every room has blackout blinds, mosquito screens, proper wardrobe space, and USB sockets beside the beds. Two have safes.
The practical things are handled. Air conditioning and central heating throughout, 600Mbps fibre that reaches the garden and pool, a monitored alarm and secure parking for four cars. The ground floor is wheelchair accessible. Cots, high chairs, changing mats and toddler toys are available, and the baths sit at a height that works when you are kneeling beside them. A villa manager welcomes you and is on hand throughout the week, with recommendations for private chefs, nannies and taxis.
Pollença old town is around twenty minutes on foot: the Sunday market, the Calvari steps, the restaurants around the Plaça Major. Port de Pollença is fifteen minutes by car and Cala Sant Vicenç about ten. The Tramuntana begins at the end of the road, making this an unusually good base for cyclists, walkers, and families.
