Investing in Property in Mallorca

There are plenty of reasons why people choose to buy in Mallorca, a great investment opportunity, a family holiday home or somewhere to call home all year round. With Mallorca's warm climate and generally pretty sunny blue sky days, this attracts Northern Europeans as it's not what they'll get at home. Not only that, Mallorca is really coming into it's own with growing popularity for people visiting for cycling, mountain climbing, bird watching and gastronomy. Mallorca is certainly on most people's radar nowadays. To add to the already fantastic reviews the island has, The Sunday Times has voted Palma de Mallorca as the "Best Places to Live in the World" due to it's fantastic culture, art, gastronomy and vibrant nightlife.

The property market has been showing positive signs of recovery since the real estate crash and there are opportunities at the right price and value for money. Buyers from abroad from countries such as Germany, UK, Scandinavia and France are all snapping up what deals they can and with the GBP being so strong vs. the Euro right now, it's a great time to buy.

In a recent census conducted by I'IBESTAT, it was reported that the there are 16,200 residents in the towns of Pollença, Port de Pollença and Cala Sant Vicenç, of which 3,500 are foreign. The island of Mallorca never feels too far from anything as it's just 2 - 3 hours to the UK and Germany and island residents benefit from a 50% reduction in fares to the mainland.
